TWENTY-FIVE F**KING YEARS!!!

And so it was, on this day, in the year of 2000, a temperate thursday evening at Stewart Sanborn's Apartment in Gardenia, that Chad Volpe, Stewart Sanborn, Tara Volpe (at the time), Melissa Gibson, and Shawn Duggins, came together to finalize their plans for the Almaine Resistance Front. ARF, our stuffed monkey mascot was inaugurated, and we began laying down the plans for the guild.
It has been a long painful experience since then, losing three of five founders over the years, seeing the guild balloon to nearly a hundred members in the early 2000s, to only a handful by the end of that first decade, and the rebirth and slow climb to a new form and smaller but more solid core that IS the whole guild nowadays.
We set out to be the Koroneburg Germans, part of our mission statement includes that proviso, that we will be there to teach Landsknecht history at the Koroneburg Renaissance Festival. With the potential end of Koroneburg in our faces, we have to grow as a guild, and seek out new venues to play, to teach, to live, at. We have been through three schisms, two rewrites, four Hauptmanns, three Trossmeisterins, and hundreds of members. We have already shown SLO, Esco, Vegas, Southern, et al, what we can do.
We will NOT be doing anything but moving forward, with, or without, the Koroneburg Renaissance Festival, regardless if it has breathed it's last or not. To date, we still have no info on when Phase Three starts, or if it does. Or Two, for that matter...
We are throwing a Guild Party this coming weekend, Friday night out at site, where we'll be camping for the night, tearing down a little more, and then returning to Traveler's Haven, Laura and Dieter's place in Murrieta, to continue the guild party until the early hours of Sunday Morning. Those needing to sleep over, are welcome to, of course.
To those who have participated in our quarter-century run, we thank each and every one of you for what you've given us of your time, your energy, your effort. This couldn't have happened without you.
